Age spots (solar lentigines) are flat brown marks that build up with years of sun on the face, backs of the hands, chest and shoulders. They are harmless, but they are also the marks people most often say make them look older than they feel.
CryoPen treats each spot with a short, precise freeze. The pigment lifts away with the surface skin over one to three weeks and the new skin underneath comes through even. One treatment is usually enough for a defined spot.
CryoPen is the right tool when the spots are few and clearly edged. For pigmentation spread across a whole area, our Candela laser pigmentation treatments or the DMK Even Tone programme are the better route, and we will say so at the appointment. We do not diagnose skin lesions. Anything that is changing in size, shape or colour, bleeding, itching or that you are unsure about must be checked by your GP before we treat it. Moles are different: we do not remove a mole on sight. We can refer you to an offsite private medical service that examines the mole and confirms whether it is suitable for removal; the check is from £150 depending on how many moles are examined, payable whether or not the mole can then be treated. Priced by the number and size of lesions treated in one visit, not by session; the assessment is included. Most skin tags, milia and age spots clear after a single freeze. If the same lesion needs a repeat treatment, it is charged at 50% of the original price.
